Where! Look at the
pavements, those black spots are chewing gum. Have you
ever tried to remove them?
Traditional methods of
freezing, scrubbing, use of chemicals and pressure
washing of pavements are slow and ineffective. Now,
using the latest technology, superheated steam at 150oC
and pressure at up to 150 bars, chewing gum can be
removed very quickly and completely without the use of
chemicals.
A normal water supply is
taken into the high pressure pump where the pressure is
increased to a required level before it enters the hot
box where the temperature is increased to up to 170
degrees Celsius if necessary. This is then fed through
the high pressure heat resistant hoses to the nozzle.
When the combination of
steam and pressure are directed at the chewing gum from
the lance it simply disintegrates into microscopic
particles that are not sticky. This process uses
minimal water and is completely safe to use in public
areas as the steam is only hot within a few centimeters
of where the lance is directed.
